
Benton, Ark-Central Arkansas Development Council will hold Individual Development Account orientations in July. Interested individuals will be given applications at the orientation.
On Wednesday, July14 at 5:00 p.m., there will also be an orientation held in Lonoke County at the CADC Lonoke Office located at 117 SE Front St.
Union County orientation will be Saturday, July 17 at 10:00 a.m. at CADC’s El Dorado Office located at 1426 N.W. Avenue.
Clark County will hold their orientation at the Arkadelphia Parent Center located at 1609 Pine St on Monday, July 19 at 12:00 Noon.
On Tuesday, July 20 there will be an IDA Orientation at 5:00 pm in Pike County at the Glenwood Senior Activity Center located at 221 Betty St; also in Hot Spring County at the Malvern Workforce Center (Smith Building) located at 1735 E. Sullenberger in Malvern, AR.
Pulaski County’s orientation will be Monday, July 26 at 6 p.m. at the Department of Workforce Service Office at 5401 South University in Little Rock and Tuesday, July 27 at 5 p.m. at the CADC North Little Rock Office at 3901 McCain Park Place, Suite 102.
There will be an orientation in Dallas County, Saturday, July 31st at 9:00 a.m. at the CADC Fordyce Office at 410 East 4th St.
IDA’s are matched savings accounts. For eligible participants, IDA’s can provide money to open or expand a small business, help pay for college expenses, purchase a home, or make home repairs. Persons who qualify can receive up to $2,000 per individual or $4,000 per family.
To be eligible, the individual or family must meet income guidelines, which for this program is 185% of the federal poverty level. Based on these guidelines, a one-person household must make less than $20,036 per year to qualify for this program. For each additional family member, add $6,919 to the annual income to determine eligibility. Other guidelines may apply.
